We are proud to introduce you to a recent TeacherReady® graduate who represents the men and women who want to serve again in our nation’s classrooms. Matthew Knight taught for several years in Colorado without being fully licensed. Matthew decided to enroll in the TeacherReady® program and earned a Florida professional teaching certificate. Matthew was then awarded a Colorado license. He is now following his passion and teaching physical education in an inner city elementary school. When asked about his experience with TeacherReady®, Matthew states, “I found that TeacherReady® was unique in that it allowed me to pursue a teacher license through real classroom experiences. I was able to quickly incorporate what I was learning through TeacherReady® directly into a classroom with students. Of course the online format is ideal for working adults with busy lives.” This Gunnery Sergeant in the Marine Corp Reserves is an excellent representative of the men and women who are a part of Troops to Teachers and is eager to help children be successful in our nation’s classrooms.
